Naw, I'm an ole fireman and now in ECC, we have to be a bit nutz to start with and on the socially unacceptable side to boot, so no worries.

And I have an "Ain't skeered" sticker around here somewhere . . . .

Okay guys, since this is the official "engine thread", I will post here that I am planning to go to picknpull next week, Saturday, December 30. Although it really depends on if I have help to do this or not.
It looks like Rich (fyre82) is willing to help out for sure, as long as it is in fact a go.
I believe that Mike (3Mike6) is also willing to show. Hopefully he can make it.
Clint (willyB) has stated that he wants to go, but also expressed concern for the distance (understandable for sure). Clint has also mentioned going to help Dan with some truck stuff so I'll wait to hear from him on this.
I'm hoping that Bdox might show up too, but haven't heard from him in a couple of days. I'll send him a pm.
Also, Skipped_link has mentioned that he might be able to go depending on his obligations at work. LeeRoy, I'll send you an e-mail.

But I need commitment gentlemen. So please call me. I think you all have my tele number. If you don't, send me a pm and I'll get it to ya.
If you here some little kids on the anwering machine when you call, don't worry, that is my machine.
I've been in and out alot with Christmas in the air, but I do get my messages when I get in. Leave your tele number and I'll call you back.

If all goes as planned, and it doesn't get cancelled due to snow or something, It'll be a good time wrenching and getting aquainted.

Hope to hear from ya all soon,
T

Do you want the money up-front, and do you have a pay-pal account?

I will not be there - too far, and too cold. My camper does not have a heater, and I am still under the weather from the last problems that sent me to the horse-pital.

I will come over and get the engine when it is ready, unless someone closer can bring it across the pass.

Okay Clint, I totally understand.
As far as the money, I don't have a pay pal account. But if you could work out contributions with the other guys, that would be great. I will also chip in of course. I think Mike was willing to chip in, and maybe Dan, I forgot. But the more the merrier. Also, the more, the less my wife will kick my arss when she finds out what I'm up to. I figure that we can split evenly the cost. That is, amoung whoever wants to chip in. Hopefully there will be enough folks where the cost per person is minimal. Labor, of course, is free. That's the fun part IMO.
I'll give you a call tomorrow, if I still have your phone number. Maybe pm me just in case with your tele #?

Tim, you have mail,

I'm pretty sure I can make it, even if no one else makes it I'm sure you & I could have it out of there in no time, (Good thing us wussy Nevada guys are willing to work in the cold to hook up the CA folks)

Now all I gotta do is find that stinking designated driver,,,,,,,,,,,I know I left it around here some where,

(edit for stupid error,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,s)

That is up to Mike - he is the money man. but you will need a pay-pal account in order to pay your share, and to receive the money for the engine.

That way everything is documented - and Mike does not have to chase checks around.

Pay-pal is on eBay, and is free.

Damn, I wish I could come down and join in...almost sounds like a good time (except for the part about wrenching in the cold...but that's the norm up here too. I'm used to it.)

I just have to learn to get over the urge to stick my tongue to a piece of cold metal to see what happens...it always sticks...

Skip - you are not a Nevada guy - you are a valued member of the California chapter. And check under the table, that is where most designated drivers live!

OK, but don't tell anybody,

I think maybe I'll remain neutral when the competition rolls around,

Didn't one of our more recent US Presidents have a designated driver?

Oh yeah, that's right. That was an intern.

Skip, I'll check my e-mail. On dial up it takes a while to get to the recent mail though, as I have to first endure the long process of downloading everyone's 1000 megabite joke emails before I can get to the recent ones. Arrrg.
Give me a while.

Alright Clint, I'll check into the paypal thing. I have been avoiding paypal for a long time 'cause I just don't feel real comfortable with on line money exchanging stuff. Not to mention the personal info I assume you have to enter over the net to get an account. Call me paranoid but... I'll bite the bullit and check into it. I hear it's supposed to be secure. But it still makes me nervous.

So how do I work out paying for the engine on the 30th? (Providing it aint snowing etc.) How does this work with the paypal procedure? It would be nice to know in advance. Do I have to pay up front, or is there a way that I can pay with this paypal account or something?

Sorry for my ignorance. I just haven't ever dealt with this kind of a thing.
