it's a dry cold so it doesn't feel too bad at all.
He's right, it's not that bad, it doesn't sink to your bones like 40 on the coast will. I'd much rather have and east side 20 than a coastal 45 anyday .
I've been aclimatized to an office so I may be a bit of a pussay about it but I still have my cold weather clothes, it's rain I don't like 'cause I melt in it '
A few of us could get er done quickly and have time for a toddy after.
I have a hoist, a few wrenches, a BFH and a prybar.
Dan could bop over to my place the evening before and stay here,(provided he's not a serial killer or something ) and we could jet down there the next day.
I will warn you guys that I have a bum wing that has difficulty doing 12 oz. curls, but the other side is ok .
Where exactly is the yard located? Carson City (south of Reno?) Is is more than a one day trip there and back, not counting the time spent pulling the engine?
Fyre82, Yeah, me too on the bum wing. I had an AC separation in my shoulder. It is my right shoulder, so if it is your left that is buggered up, then we can make up for eachothers weakness'. Ha ha
A little fiber tape to stabilize and we'll have two arms.
Anyway, yeah, it looks like December 30 might be a good day for me and Fyre82. How about anyone else?

Only a couple of problems with that plan...one is that I have prior commitments that I simply can't get out of taking me through every weekend till the middle of January, so there's just no way I could make it. Another flaw is that it's just about equi-distant for me to go to Westwood or the Carson Valley, so there's not much of a savings in driving for me to come to your place first. And as far as the one bit, that was a long time ago and both the Parole board and state Mental Health have cleared me to interact with the public again, as I'm only very ocasionally hearing the voices these days...
Im going to talk it over with the wife. Her sister lives in Carson City...for sure if I made a trip so close, it'd have to be a family thing...only because of going to Nevada...i/e she'd have no issue with me making a 4 or 5 hour drive to spend a few days...as long as it was in some barren, god forsaken place...but beng that there would be a potential to pull a few slots, and roll some dice...i/e for me to have some fun...she'd have to make sure she was included.
So, I'm off on Friday the 29th. I can probably take Thursday off early as well...this would get us up there early enough to beat having to take a chance of sriving n the dark with any snow. Then hook up with you guys early on Saturday and see what we can do.
When she get's back in a bit, I'll run it past her.
Let's start a new thread on what we think we'll need.

Well that was a good idea in theory , I don't quite see that it could be the same distance almost but the main idea was to pool from here, save you some gas and a get to know ya time, but I understand previous commitment stuff for sure.
Yeah Tim I'm a lefty crip so we can make one good man between us, same injury although an old one and I'm waitin on the newest diagnosis which might be rotator issues, doc takes his time cause he's on vacation .
Anyway between u and I, skipped link and maybe Mike we can be heros .

Geeze I must be on vacation. That went in one eye and out the other, sorry Dan. You're welcome over anyway .
I read on the other thread that there might be an issue finding a truck to put the engin into. Or did I miss something. I'll pick up the local rag and look for something out in my area. No guarantees though. These old trucks are getting a little harder to find at 10 cents / dozen.
