Have some tall jackstands and 2 floor jacks. The instructions say do one side at a time, but that tends to bind things up. With 2 floor jacks you can drop the axle all at once. Some people try and drop the front end with the brakelines still in place, not a good idea. The springs may look flat with the weight of that diesel on them, but once you remove the weight, those springs are fairly arched and can get stuck up against the frame pretty quick and the axle needs to be lowered a good amount to get it out of the way, hence the tall jackstands and removing the calipers.
Have a torch available. A little heat goes a long way in loosing the factory threadlock, just don't over do it. A breaker-bar is also a must.
You need a BIG pitman arm puller. The stock center shaft is not the strongest, so I don't recommend trying to use an air hammer, just a puller. It can be the biggest PITA to get off.
The stock exhaust on the passenger side tends to get in the way of taking out the upper shackle bolt, so you may have to loosen the exhaust, or slightly pry it out of the way.
It's early and that's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!
the exhaust on the pass side of my v10 was in the way, I needed an extra hand for prying. Not sure about the diesels, but I did not get the adjustable trac bar. The stock one will work, but it doesnt want to play nice. A jacvk and a come along fixed that.
The bolts holding the tow hooks on are PITA's -- thread lock
