2002 f350 radio

How do I pull out my stock radio out of my 02 f350? Its the radio with the cd changer/am/fm. Is that where the antenna plugs in at? Or is it somewhere else? if so, where?

You need to put something in the four holes in the face of the radio to release the retaining clips. Once those are disengaged you can pull the radio out.

Or, Tilt the steering wheel down, put the shifter in first gear, and pull the bezel out and release all of the connections and then you can get to the backside of the radio to release it.

If your changer is the indash, you will have one 16 or 20 pin connector and the antenna plug in the back. If your changer is external, you will have the main plug, antenna plug, and the changer plug.

thanks reax. Appreciate it. I am going to install something inline with my antenna. Its for my Sirius radio modulater. I dont have many empty fm stations here. The thing iam installing will block out all fm/am signals to my radio so I get clear reception from my sirius radio when the sirius radio is turned on. When its turned off, my regular radio will work normaly.

craiginsocal, where did you get this thing and what is it? How did the install go? I am looking for options to install a satellite radio myself.

Check Crutchfield for a PIE interface adapter. If your radio has an aux button on it, you can add this and it gives you an auxillary plug. This is how I have my Sirius radio plugged in. This is way superior to the FM modulator. If you go to the website or call them they can tell you if it will work with your radio. Price is somewhere around 100 bucks or slightly less, but as I said before, well worth it.

The problem is I have the stock 02 radio, no aux button. Looks like I may have to purchase a different radio. Any clue whether the oem radio from an 06 with a aux button would fit in my truck? They have em on ebay.

I'm not positive, but I dont believe the '06 radio will fit in the '02. I know the '06 radio is bolted in and doesnt use the spring clips like the older ones. It appears to be slightly larger top to bottom, it may not be though. I do believe that an '03 / '04 radio will fit right in and I know that I saw PIE adapters listed for them.

05 and up radios will not fit in the 99-04 trucks without major modifications (pretty much swapping out the entire dash or building a custom one). The newer radios are wider and taller than the old ones, and bolt in like JohnnysF350 said.

That is what I was afraid of, oh well. I will have to figure something out. The FM transmitter does not work well around here, I definitely want to hard wire in.

the antenna connection from sirius works great in my 02. the easiest way to get your radio out is to buy the removal tool. they are only a few bucks at most autoparts stores

my sirius antenna connector if i recall was $30 at best buy

flaynavy, on some radios if you hit the cd button more than once it will try to switch to an aux changer. See if your radio says no cd dj when you hit the cd button while already playing a cd.

Ya know, I saw that procedure on the hitting the CD button and it blew my simple pea brain mind. I am going to print it out and give it a shot.

Mudmaker, thanks for that info I will check into the atenna adapter and see if that is the way for me to go.
