I've got a 66 f-100 that has a 71 column in it now. The blinker cam is broke at the horn switch and the blinkers itself works but doesnt stay clicked and doesnt "auto-off". Most salvage yards sell whole columns for about $65 out here.I know i've seen post about what years work in this era f-100 but my search function isnt working.
What all years will work and how much modifying is need (I have power steering).
the ts switch new goes for about $75 last time i looked, and I really dont want that big bulky ts box on the side of my column. It would cancel if it wasnt broken.
I was couruois about this too. I have a 66 with a differtent year colum and a 3speed and want to add the ford box. What colum can I use to keep the 3 speed and uses the ford box?? thanks
I agree with William not in Atlanta any more. Just get a turn signal switch for your '71 column, and change it out. About $65 at the most from any of the suppliers here, it is about a 2 hour job, adult beverages included.
Okay, I forgot about LMC and their lower prices. I know none of the pat stores have it for my year, just have to rememberf my horn switch is broken off the main assembly which is running me the $75 from Dennis Carpenter.

I just did the swap on a 75.You will need the entire column and mounting brackets, including the one on the outside firewall.Make sure you get all of the brackets for mounting the pump and the cooler as well. You should try to get the same year P/S column as you have on the truck if possible.
While you are at it try to get a donor truck from the 70's that has power disc brakes also, you can then have p/s and power disc brakes all at the same time.
Good luck!

I have the ford box already and the disk stuff, just not a booster yet. I will look for a column now. I have a feeling it will be the hard part. thanks
