OK guys here it is.. after my truck spending a week in the shop, not a dealer mind you the only thing that was determaned was, there was a leak on the suction side of the high pressure pump... today I removed the high pressure pump and low and behold on the side of the pump there is a passage that is supposed to have a ball brg plug swedged into it... IT's missing..there is the high pressure suction side leak!!!!I'm a happy camper!!!!!!now it's back together and make this thing run...Has anyone seen this before???? or am I the first??? my luck says I'm first...thanks to all for your help...
For anyone following my post, My truck is up and running fine now. the problem was the plug in an oil passage on the high pressure pump. the plug was a ball bearing about 3/8" in size and it was missing. This created a base oil presure leak and it was also a suction leak on the high pressure pump. so there was two symtoms that didn't make sense together.I want to thank everyone whom tried to give advice. every little bit helped. and a special THANK YOU (TIPPING MY HAT) to BowTieHatr who went the extra mile. Next time my truck brakes down, It's getting shipped to his dealership for repair.(Don't laugh, It might happen.) Thanks again...Dan
