OK here we go... pulled right valve cover and started engine... could see oil being sprayed around number 3 injector,a little less around number 5. turned on the high idle and low and behold, alot more oil...I guess that new o-ring's are in order...I'm just gonna replace all of them..these oil log's or rail's (what ever they are called) do not have a high pressure hose on them, there is a removable tube that comes from the lifter valley and goes into the log with an o-ring to seal it... that little tube that comes out of the log that goes into the injector,is there any way that that can leak? is ther an 0-ring inside that? as it is really hard to see exactley where the oil is coming from, either from the injector or that tube?
ok you have the wave rail. you are going to have to replace the injector(s). also that tube oyu removed is part of the standpipe. there are 3 orings if i am not mistaken which you need to replace but you will probably have to order them.
I'm confused (again) stand pipe o-ring=one on each end? can't buy o-ring for inside injector? have to buy new injector just for o-ring? that little metal tube that sticks out of the wave rail, that goes into the injector(ha ha) know what I mean? my question is, is there an 0-ring or anything ther that goes bad?
ok so all you did was take the 8 torx bolts out then right? i am trying to picture what you have done so far so i can tell you where to go. in the wave rail, there are 2 1/2 drive pipe plugs. the one close to the front and one at the rear that is probably sticking out correct?
ok i got you. that pipe that is still in the head is part of the standpipe. remove it from the head and you will see two D-rings. look in the head where that tube went and you will a hollow shaft. grab it very carefully on the OUTSIDE so you wont damage it, and pull it out as well and you will see a D-ring on the end as well. you will want to replace these as well as the injectors.
