heres my problem, my truck runs rough and has no power when its cold, but once it starts to get warm it runs fine. it seems to only happen when its cold outside, if its 45 or warmer outisde it runs fine.
I have the same problem. It still runs but it is skippy when just sitting in park and skippy when I put gas on it. Once it gets warmed up though it runs fine.
Does it appear to run rich? Check your Engine Coolant Temp Sensor(It controls how much fuel the engine burns until it is warm enough for the O2 sensor to take over)

my engine temp gauge barely gets above the normal area and i know thats not right. Could that be my problem. the engine isn't getting warm enough?? but that doesn't make sense. i think its the engine temp sensor.
replace your engine temp sensor, the computer uses that information to determine how much fuel to feed the motor. some engines have more than one so make sure you replace them all.

Does your truck still have the stock air cleaner box and air temperature sensor?
The engine coolant temp sensor is located in a tee on the front of the intake directly below the throttle body. The engine coolant temp switch, which runs the gauge, is located on the driverside front part of the head with a one wire hook up. If your the guage isnt coming up and the motor feels fairly cool to the touch and not warm or hot to the touch, then change the thermostate before you start buying more expensive parts like sensors. As for it running better when warm outside then try looking at the air charge temp sensor which is located on the intake to the driverside, right between the front two fuel injectors. www.fordfuelinjection.com goes through how to check them with a voltmeter. The truck relies on both of these sensors to determine fuel mixture during the warm up portion of run time.
