1996 F350 w/ a 351w , Truck idles great and revs up great sitting, but when U take it for a ride pulling out slow it is fine but under any kind of load or more then 1/4 throttle it starts bogging, bucking you name it, any help please.
KOER codes were only 311 which has to do with the air pump, timing is right on 10 w/ spout out, and the plugs and wires and cap/rotor all good, the only thing that I have found is the fuel pressure with KOEO pressure is 30 , truck running with vac. off it is 38, with vac on and truck running 31psi. But the truck idles great and drive good at part throttle, but if you give more throttle, it seems like something is holing it back. I test fuel pressure by pinching out return line off of the regular and the pressure is suppost to go way up but it stayed the same 30 psi. when I load the engine it drops to 28psi. What do ya think?
FYI. the fuel system should build about 35psi with vacuum and increase to about 40psi when vacuum is removed or the throttle is blipped, if pressire actually drops in either of these cases the pump is weak or the fuel lines(or filter) may be clogged.
Yes, it has a new fuel filter and air filter, OK, at idle the truck runs like new you can rev it up and everything. It sound great, Oh it has shorty headers and no cat and full three inch exhaust but it did what it is doing before all that. You can be driving it and it runs fine but go to give it throttle to pass quick or to pull a hill hard it seems like your breathing good and then someone puts there hands around your throat.
Is it throttle position sensative or load sensative? Does it always happen at full throtte and only at full throtte? Or just when there is a heavy load on the engine? Does it happen at all rpm or just high or just low? More info please would be a big help, when is as important as what in figuring these things out. Is there a situation when you know it will happen if you do ______ ?
It sems to be only like more gas to pull a hill, or like when it down shifts it just does not feal like it has all it power. I found out when you sit still and rev it it has a slight hesitation, but when drive it don't. And it seems more at half to full throttle. And now my full pressure gauge just started to bounce really fast almost like ticking from 32 to 38psi, and it's loud but the truck don't seem to run any different, but uses alot of fuel...
