what front axle?

what front axle?
what front axle would be under my 2001 excursion? would it be a dana 50 or dana 60? thanks.

pretty sure all the Ex's have the Dana 50 up front, well the 4x4s at least

I believe they switched to Dana 60's for the 2002 model year, '00 and '01 are 50's. Same as the Superduty's.

The Ford Excursion was never changed.. All years, all models from the factory have a Dana 50 axle. Source: year 2000 through 2005 source books.

Sorry to dig up an older post, but I was wondering what 4X4 X's have for front differentials. When I got my 2000 X, I opted for the limited slip (I assume that it is rear), but I am curious what is in the front pumpkin. I can't imagine its a locker or spool, but I also find it hard to believe that its an open diff... Is it another limited slip?
