Question 9" Tag question

I found the tag on my 9" rear but I can't find any spec's that match up to get the ratio. I done the spin a axle and count deal but I just want to make sure before I install it. It's muck easier to work on out of the truck. The # I have is 758 DA 88 and it came from my 68 Torino GT. There is a second set of 3 or 4 letters that are worn down is this the ones I need?

This page has about the best information on 9" that I have found.
All the ID's I've seen need the letters.
Clean the tag real good, put a piece of paper over it and do the pencil rub thing.

If you can find a link...the WEB-H1 will tell you almost everything you need to know...ratio, axle splines..etc.

It may not tell you whether it's a limited slip...on those axles, a separate tag was sometimes used...with a simple L meaning limited slip.

The first group of numbers you posted are some sort of assembly/engineering numbers...I forget what they refer to, sorry.

I double checked the tag and it is WEB-H. I have checked every site I can find and same here no match. Everything on that car has been odd thats why I originaly bought it and restored it. The count with turning the tire says its a 2.75. Thanks for the help

Just thought about this...are you sure that the letters aren't WER-H?

If so...you have an 8.7 rear end, not a 9 incher.

I also have a question about this "Tag". I'm restoring a 1953 F100. The truck came with a 1971 400ci engine, a 1971 C6 transmission, and I'm not sure what rear end. It doesn't appear to be either a 9" or 8". From some catalogs it appears to be an 8.8, but I'm seeing conflicting info on that also.. 8.8's came out in 1983 or so? Any ideas? The cover has 10 bolts and 2 little notches cut out at 5 o'clock, and 7 o'clock position.
Thanks..

The only two rear ends available in 1971 for that powertrain are the 8.7 which had a rear cover, and the 9 inch dropout.

If there is a rear cover on the axle assy...it's an 8.7. The gasket part number is C7AZ-4036-A

The original tag code began WER-
