1964 Ranchero rear axle code + weight
Anybody know what this axle tag might mean? Is the 3.50 stamped into the tag my ratio? 8"??
Tag: WCY-F1
3.50 3KC509? I think its a "9" at the end, could be an "8", fighting with a little rust here.
ALSO: I need the weight of this vehicle if anybody might happen to know it... Thanks guys, couldnt find this info searching here or the internet... Michael

if that's the falcon style ranchero, you might find some info on a falcon site - i found some info on mine on a torino site. it didn't have specs for the ranchero, but a lot of the stuff applies. for the weight, i figured:
see what the difference in weight is between a 4-door torino and a 2-door.
subtract that difference from a station wagon weight.
subtract a little more for the roof and glass in the back of a 'wagon.
and maybe that'll be close! someone here posted actual weight from a track scale, which is probably more accurate than published data. i guess i'll find out when i get it to the track!

3.50
3KC509? These numbers are date & plant code numbers

WCY-F1 doesn't show up in my Ford parts book.
Axles that do show up for the Falcon are:
WCY-E = 3.20 > 7.25" RING GEAR
WCY-F = 3.50 > 7.25" RING GEAR
WCY-L = 3.20 "
WCY-M = 3.50 "
WCY-N = 2.83 "
WCY R = 2.83 "
WCY-AA = 2.83 "
WCZ--E = 2.80 8" RING GEAR
Other ford axles explained.
