loud shuddering vibration noise when acclerating

2000 EB. When pulling my trailer and 2 four wheelers I hear this loud kind-of grinding noise. More like shuttering vibration noise coming from the front mid section area. If I accelerate slow to 70mph the problem is not very noticible. But if I accelerate quickly ( from 50mph to 70mph) the noise and vibration is real bad. Any ideas?

yes, but not as bad, . This only happens 55mph or more and going up hill, I guess when i'm losing power, when I have to get heavy on the accelerater.

What size engine and how much weight are you pulling? Does it help if you have the overdrive off?

You might have a bit of an engine miss... buy a coil pack and swap it around one at a time until it's fixed.

Good luck

5.4l, The sound and shuttering sounds like it comes from the front somewhere. I do take it out of over drive. i'm only pulling about 2500lbs, including the trailer. Sounds like a drive-train problem. If i ease into my acceleration going 55mph to 70mph no problem. But when I'm going up hill and loose power and get heavy on the acclerater (55mph to 70mph) the loud noise and shutter from front area starts and then when I reach my constant speed, the problem stops.

Could be a bad/intermittent COP or spark plug, but could also be TCC shudder.
I'm going to guess that you've got the 4R100 trans, and if that's the case,it's unlikely that it's TCC shudder-the 4R70W's tend to have issues with that, not the 4R100's.
