Diesels aren't broke-in until they get to 15 to 20,000 miles. It's still NEW.

Doing so is a two part bonus.

#1 I have a back up to get home with. Just have to find a few guys and an engine hoist.

#2 I can run 2WD because I'll have weight in the bed for traction.

Actually, the cool thing would be to make the truck 2WD only, reverse the transfer case and install the second engine in the rear hooked to the front drive output. Two engines!! That'd be like a 16 cylinder diesel!! Now that would run!! Of course, it'd cost a lot to get it to where the front engine is. New injectors, nitrous, intake, intercooler, radiator, another fuel tank, fuel pumps, etc. Oh, never mind! That would kill a couple other credit cards and then the wife would kill me!!

Kinda reminds me of Ford's ol' "BackUp Pickup" funnycar...anyone else remember that?
Hey, with the two engines and 16 cyl ya may not need to risk throwin a slug with nitro lol... But even without the add-ons, it would still assist, and at anypoint where the orig eng took over it would just freewheel, like coasting. Might have to at LEAST do the T/C, tho, can't have a prelaunch situation...
