compression test on diesel
In the market for a used diesel and was reviewing the helpful sticky on items to look at when examining a used diesel.
One of the items says: 3) If possible, do compression check, and Cylinder contribution test.
I thought diesels did not have spark plugs? How would I hook up a compression guage? Or is their a special tool for diesels.

the compresson test is done threw the glow plug hole as siad abov eyou need a special adapter and a diesel compresson tool as the compression is about twice that of a gasser. a contribution test isdone via a computer if you have a laptop a good program is Auto enginuity.
