Did you remove the elbow or remove the hose and put a vaccum hose inside while drilling and tapping. Also playing with the idea of getting the aftermarket elbow, I assume most of you have seen these any thoughts on them? The one I'm looking at has a nipple for a boost gauge hook-up. Around $179 I think.

My Boost gauge is on the map sensor pressure line. I teed off this line. But I do get the fluttering boost pressure reading. I’m thinking of moving the boost pick up line to the intake manifold. The fluttering is annoying.

Yep the intake elbow is the best place for the boost tube...as mentioned earlier, this location will give you smooth readings throughout the range. Tapping into the MAP line will give you boost gauge flutter at higher PSI's.

After you remove the stocker you can drill it with a Type "R" (.339) drill bit or a 21/64" drill bit. Tap with a 1/8 NPT tap. I recommend using an elbow fitting to prevent the tube from interfering with the oil or fuel filter caps during routine maintenance.

...or you could purchase an Accufabracing Power Air Inlet...which comes pre-drilled and tapped

There is a mounting hole on the Accufab Intake elbow, which might be the one you are referring to. I would have used that but I put the elbow on way after I had the guages in.

You can see the mounting hole in the back ground on the polish elbow. . .

Put the Pyro probe on the exhaust . . .

yes i removed it to tap it. it's only four bolts and the clamp. comes off in 2min. i just covered the neoprene hose with wire loom to protect it. plus it looks a little more oem. but the best way would be to buy the one with the nipple pre-installed. . but it looks nice chrome. $179 just for the elbow is not worth it to me, i would justify that money towards exhaust though

It is a racing application design not a pretty piece. Also it is not chrome, it is polished. It is all a part of a master plan for engine improvement!!!!
