Some CD's that I've burnt don't work so well in the player. Anyone have success with a particular CD brand???
I've tried several brands, but it's a hit and miss deal.... the player states "bad disc" sometimes reinstall and it plays... WTF? all disc seem to be ok in the wifes escape tho..
try a different program to burn the cd's or burn them at a slower speed
you might also try using a cd head cleaner ( a special disk with a little brush on it and some cleaning solution) usually available at any store selling electronics
I've used all brands and they have worked without fail in my F-150 (it has the CD player and the tape player), my wife's Escape and my Towncar with a Panasonic 6 disc changer. Brands don't seem to make any difference. Maybe it's the burner or it needs cleaning.
use nero that what i use and have never had a problem, also like with my radio it wont play MP3's so if yours doesnt say MP3 on the front then make sure you burn the cd in WAV. format

good point, I had forgotten that some of the cd players are CD only, not MP3/CD...make sure to specify in your options to burn as an AUDIO cd if you don't have the MP3 player
