My subwoofer that i just put in buzzes at a low volum and probelly at high too but not noticable cuz of how loud it is.
The only thing that is quetionable is the ground i used. I have a 400W and a 1500W amps running off of the metal on the seat braket the paint is cleaned off.
My new Allpine cd deck was burnt up because of the sub.
Could a bad ground do that to a head unit cd?
Where could i find a good ground?
If you are pulling the kind of power I think you are, you may want to consider running a ground line to the battery to insure a clean return circuit. Although the seat bracket may be tied to the body, its connection may not be as good as needed.
When I run my Ham Radio equipment in my cars, I always run POS and GND lines directly from the battery using large guage wires.
It's been a long time since I've messed with hi-fi audio, but I used to install a lot of systems. We always grounded the head unit and amp to the same place. This is even better if it's a ground block wired directly to the battery.
You can also buy a filter at Radio Shack that goes on the positive wire of the head unit/amp that works pretty well. Don't remember what they're called now, hopefully someone else will chime in.
could be a bad ground, make sure the connections go to the body and you may want to try running the negitive back to the battery also.
you could be picking noise up from your inputs(RCA cables) to the amp.
