how much abuse will the engine take?!?

Hey guys I have a 1993 7.3 with banks turbo on it. (olderstyle non wastegated) i have the fuel turned up some. my boost at the highest gets up to 8lbs. My pyrometer i will take it up but will not ever get it past the 1200 mark. (try to keep it around 1150 or lower always). My thing is I like to pull out hard with it and watch the black smoke. I always seem to have my foot in it tho. My question am I going to distroy my motor by doing so? Like i said i wont ever take the pyrometer up to where the pistons will melt or anything. But pulling out hard and staying on it as long as my egt's arent high is that going to hurt this engine?
thanks,
Jimmy
PS Please let me know how much abuse these engines will take.

As long as you change your oil and service the engine every 3000 miles for the severe duty, you are hurting your wallet at the fuel pump much worse than the engine.

Ask me how I know.
Right shoe usually rests on something solid like either the brake pedal or the floor board. (there is some long skinny pedal between my shoe and the floor board though, not much resistance, it smashes real flat on the floor)

A little off track here but I wanta avoid some costly expenses. I was told that my valve stem seals were going bad after noticing that my truck smokes after start up for a little bit (warm or cold). Its been doing this for a while but I was wondering how much abuse can they take until they start causing some major engine problems? Will they last until the endo of the month when I can have them replaced?

yeah i mean i like to hot rod around town but i am not reving the engine and dumping the clutch i always let off of the fuel when i go to grab the next gear and clutch is whole way out before i lay back into it. I more less like hearing the noise it makes (these engines with 4inch strait pipe soud so good!) and i like watchign the smoke fly. I try to see how fast i can always pull the ridge and see who i can catch up to coming up over it. But like i said i always make sure not to get my engine any higher then like 1175. Normaly i stop at 1150 and let off some to let it come back down some. my engine has 114,000 miles on it right now. I always get my oil changed 3,000 miles and well 30,000 miles the antifreeze (i wanna change that ahyhow before winter just because i dont know when prevous owner changed it) as for the truck it pulls strong. Now for whenever you start them up what should the warmup time be before you start to really run them? I know my truck the temp guage stays really low in this 30degree weather we have been having lately. I cant wait untill i get the cold air ram air injection on it. Also i always make sure when i shut it off that the pyrometer is below 300 degrees.
thanks,
Jimmy

We are in the low 20's at night here now. I start rolling as soon as the engine smooths out after starting, but I roll easy till the temp is over 150 and I wait till I reach 190 before I really stand on it.

I think we are supposed to get a slight reprieve this week, but at the present rate I am going to have to start plugging it in at night shortly.

Nice thing about WV is I have several nice hills to pull before I get to the shop.
By the time I get there I am ready to go towing or hauling what ever I need that day.

Don't forget to change the other fluids in the tranny, transfer case, and differentials, I do mine every year.

Valve stem seals are not going to cause any major problem, but they do build up deposits on and around the valves where they are leaking.
