I am attemoting to change my spark plugs on my 99 expedition XLT with 221000 on it. Any tips or advice before I dig in? ANY help would be greatly apriciated!!
I have two suggestions. Don't change the plugs on a hot engine. Change them on a cold engine if possible. Second, if the plugs are tight coming out don't force them. Spray some penetrating oil in the hole and work the plug in and out until it frees up.
Use plenty of extensions and swivels and some patience pills. Blow out the plug well with compressed air before you change the plugs. Also add some anti-sieze to the threads of the plug before you re-install them.
How did the plug replacement go? I did mine and had some issues with extension or there lack of having enough extensions on hand-- luckily the neighbor leaves his garage open -- The remember the 7 "P's"
