What do you mean when you say that you checked the coil? What specifically did you check, and what were the results? Was this a winding resistance test, visual spark test, etc? You have to be more specific.

Not a whole lot to be specific about, I held the plug wire off the coil close to a ground and had somebody crank it, no spark. That is the only test i have tried, I replaced the wire that goes from the igniton switch to the coil and it made no differance. Any idea?

Next step is to connect a test light from the negative terminal of the coil (labeled TACH TEST) to clean, unpainted metal on the engine (ground). Crank the engine over with the key, and the light should BLINK. Report your results.

There is no WHITE wire going from the ignition switch to the coil. The ignition switch does not connect directly to the coil at all, in fact. Hot-in-RUN power from the ignition switch connects to the ballast resistor, which then goes to the positive terminal of the coil. The 'I' post of the starter solenoid also connects to the positive terminal of the coil. At no point does the ignition switch run directly to the coil.

This is starting to sound like a custom wiring setup that adds more variables to the problem. Please describe your exact setup in detail, as well as your motivation for replacing wires.
