John didn't do the suspension or axles. Just the winch, tranny, and doubler. A locker and trailer hitch for the rear. I'll post pictures as soon as I get the 31's on it.
No. It just has the 2" lift and I'll go with 31's on it. Thought about getting a 4" suspension lift and useing the 33 10.10's I have but that will put it pushing a bunch of air on the highway. Not going to be able to run 75mph anymore though. With 3.73 gears and 31's 65mph is about max for an all day drive. Thats ok though. I have plenty of time.
Jr. still has the 6" lift on it and the 4.11's and Detroits.
Well I am still going to try to make. This is what Green looks like after taking a hit to the right rear by a ebby tahoe. Doesn't look too bad with the winch cable pulling the rear axle forward back into place. The ebby hit the rear axle and broke the center pin in the spring pack and sent the AAL and overload flying. Pulled the rear driveshaft apart and beat up the brand new exhaust pretty bad.
Guess I'll try to get the driveshaft and spring pack back together and see how it drives. Chances are the rear axle has bad bearings though with that hard of a hit.
Hope I can go. We'll see. This is taking up time I was going to use for other stuff. Still have to find out if the rear axle is ok for a 2000 mile + trip.
Don't get discouraged, Jack. You know those 8.8s are bulletproof AND bowtie proof!! Your tour guide services are needed in Utah so best of luck getting it fixed. The time for bad luck is before a trip so all you have on the trip is good luck!!
Insurance called this morning and said not to do any more repairs. I told them that truck had to be on the road running this afternoon and there were no other options. Told them no one made a truck that would go where Green is going next week. Someone is coming out in a couple of hours.
Glad things are coming along. You need to get/make a bowtie decal/sticker and plaster it right in the middle of the dent above the RR tire - kinda like your first bombing run taking out a Tahoe!
And you know where to tell the insurance company to go!!
Well it seems to drive the same as it did before. Raining out there all day today but it's back together. Going to go shopping and wash the sleeping bag. Tommorrow is suppose to be nice so I'll clean stuff out and pack tomorrow when the weather is better.
