Quick Tranny Question

Going to get a tranny flush next week and was wondering if I have to replace the filter also. My Expy is a 2000 Eddie Bauer 4X4 with a 5.4L. I would like to know before hand so I don't get soaked for a new filter if it is reusable.

If you're having somebody flush your tranny, they won't replace the filter 99% of the time. The flush uses the in & out lines to/from your radiator/transmission cooler and shouldn't come close to the filter.

Should you change the filter? I would personally. I may be wrong, but I think Ford says they are lifetime filters though.

Thanks for the info. My mechanic will also be draining the converter so if he is going to drop the pan I will have him take alook at the filter and if it looks good I won't change it.
