Clamp isn't tight enough?

I just purchased a Gibson Swept Side exhaust system for my 2003 F-150 Supercrew and upon finishing the installation I realized that the very last section of pipe (that curves to the side leading to the exhaust tip) is not firmly attached. No matter how tight I make the clamps the thing still swivels and can be pulled off. I was thinking about making smearing some type of glue in there in addition to the clamp but I don't know how reliable that would be. Any ideas? Thanks!

Weld the section on, it will ensure that it is air tight and not prone to falling out.

the only thing is I don't have access to a welder and i'd rather not have to take it to the shop to get it done. How much would somethin like that cost? Are there any alternatives?

Is it a band style clamp? Take the pipe off and clamp off. Cut slits in the pipe so the pipe has room to shrink when clamped. If that won't work say if the band clamp is clamped as far as it will go then dump it and get a U bolt clamp.

it is a U-Bolt clamp. Would you still recommend cutting the slits in? Sounds like it would work to me. Thanks!

The slits will still work. Just don't cut too far so the inside pipe end is exposed. You'll have a leak. Also tighten the snot out of it. Use an impact if you need to. If the tubing is stainless then that could be why it is so tough.

Okay, yeah it is stainless, I will go ahead and try the slits and see what I can do. Thanks again!

DONT USE BAND CLAMPS IF YOU SLICE IT!. The pipe will crush and when you heat the stainless to to remove the pipe down the road you will be all done. Slice the pipe and use wide band clamps just dont slice it more than the width of the clamp. I own a 4x4 shop and I bend exhaust all my systems are stainless and all of them are sliced and clamped not welded. Once it is welded you are stuck with it
