Replacement battery post clamps?

My truck is running and starting just fine-but the lead OEM original battery post clamps are deformed and the bolt and nut on the clamps are deformed and rusted. The PO was hard on these poor clamps.

The original clamps are also very ugly because of this deformation and rust. But causing no operational problems.

How easy is it to get to the chassis ground bolt on the passenger side of the frame member that goes underneath the engine?? Doesn't look easy to get to when I eyeball it.

The positive and negative cables are in good condition-just the lead battery clamps need to be replaced.

Who makes a high quality aftermarket battery post clamp?? I am thinking of cutting off the OEM lead clamps and connecting some aftermarket clamps on the OEM original cables--both negative and positive. I want clamps that are highly reliable and good looking-to match the rest of the engine bay. Perhaps marine quality.

It is most likely going to be easier and cheaper for you to buy whole new cables opposed to just terminals. IMHO the only way to get a reliable connection on a terminal is to crimp it. The crimpers are not cheap and are slightly difficult to do with the cables still attached to the trucks. You should be able to slide under the truck from behind the passenger side tire and look up and to the left and see the ground cable, and the positive cable just goes the the starter solenoid which should be right next the the battery.

Don't replace just the end. It doesn't work very well. I did that once and ended up chasing a ground problem that I created. Replace the whole cable. It's not too hard to get to the end that goes to the block. It runs down under the accessories on the passenger side. You can get to it pretty easily from underneath.

A soldered end is the only way short of total replacement. I tried & did not do so well, but ran across a mobile tech who hangs out at my parts store who had the right stuff to do it when a friends car needed it recently.

On my truck I ponied up when I r&r'ed both cables with factory replacements from one of our sponsers at the same time I went with a gell battery. Almost 4 years later, they still look new.
