I believe that the f-350 frame is narrower than the f-250. I'm assuming that there was a type-o in a previous post that the box was off an f-250 drw, as far as I know that there is no such vehicle from the factory. I would suggest taking some measurements, start with measuring the bolt holes center to center in the box that was originally on your truck. Measure side to side and front to back, then compare to the other box or any other you are looking at. It sounds like you got shafted on the one you bought.
Hi all, I have a DRW that needs a bed. I have been having a hard time finding a used bed in any condition. Does anyone know what the difference is between the DRW and SRW bed, beside the wheel flares? Thanks D
I think it should not be all that hard find one. I saw a couple of them on EBay few days ago…Look at these item number 270063885161, 270063885286, 270063885454 all of them are active as of this time<O</O
Could it be that your truck is a chassis-cab? They have a narrow frame and the fuel tank us usually aft of the rear axle.
I'm with gjgogel - everything you've told us points to your truck being a cab and chassis model that came from the factory without a regular pickup bed. They're designed to accept an aftermarket flat bed, utility bed, wrecker bed, etc... Fitting a pickup bed will require some creative mods - it'd be simpler and cheaper to buy a flatbed.

Yep, I just ran the vin. It is a chassis cab. I guess I have some mods to do. I'll keep the bed until spring and then make a flat bed it. In the mean time my son suggested that the gap between the cab and bed would look good with exhuast stacks coming up there. I'll make some brackets to mount the box down to the frame. and make a plate to cover the frame in the back.
