02 F350 DRW to SRW

in the midst of building my 01/02 6 door,
I find myself short on cash, and looking for an easy way out.

right now I have a SRW bed on the truck, and DRW fenders ready to be mounted.

thinking the cheapest route right now would be to convert it to SRW for the time being.

I can always go back to DRW, but once its a dually, I cant go back to single. without too much work.

has anyone taken a F350 dually chassis and ran SRW rims and tires?

I have a set of rims and new tires on the single chassis.
that would save me atleast 3 grand right now!

is it really as simple as removing the DRW adapters on the front axle?

the chassis in question is an 02 F350

Here is the link to a post I submitted on this a while back. Its really straight forward and you just need to remove the front pacers and get the right rims. IF you don't the back tires will stick out another 1-inch from the front. Also, I have found a tire guys that rotated my tires for $40. Also I went to the junk yard and grabbed a stock rim and good tire for the new spare. Don't forget that as you will have a DRW spare under there. Also, you can go with the rim that fits in the rear, and then space the front an inch. If I did it again i Might do it that way, but I just really hate spaces.

that's exactly what I was lookin for!
THANK YOU!
I think ill swap the entire rear axle out.
as long as gearing permits.
if I gotta go through a rear diff, I may as well keep the DRW
I don't really like the spacer idea, that's a whole inch past the hub on each side.
and buying special rims is also out of the question,
If I gotta buy rims, ill keep the DRW lol

appreciate the link, and your truck looks great!

The issue I had with the rear axle swap is a lot of the components won't swap. So you need a complete axle, brakes, etc. Then you need to rebuild it or trust you got some life left in the one you find. Then gears, I had 4:10, so good luck finding that out there in a sterling. So by that time,,buy the rims and tires. I spent more because I lifted it, and painted the truck. Plus I like the Dana 80 in the rear, those things are bullet proof.

looks like the cheapest route for me is to keep the DRW.
buying custom rims is gonna be expensive.
getting a new diff, and then rebuilding it would cost about the same as its gonna cost me for rims and tires for the DRW.
I already have new dog houses for the SRW bed.
so either way its gonna cost me a couple of grand.
best just keep the DRW, besides it will tow my big pig of a boat better on long trips.

my 87 is a SRW, so I think my most beneficial option is to keep it DRW.

A little confused as to what you're trying to do, but if you'd be interested in swapping your drw rear with my srw rear, let me know.
