What are the pros and cons to a 350 SRW or DRW? I'm knees deep for a 93-94 350 IDI and ideally would find an ext/crew long bed SRW but if a nice DRW came by, what would I be in for, good and bad?
The only hauling would be firewood stuff over short distances. It would be sitting outside so no garage issues.
Thanks in advance.

DRW uses more fuel, and hurts when the time comes to buy tires. For firewood You will run out of space before weight. I would pass on the DRW and holdout for SRW 4x4.
I can load my 250 full of green wood and still just barely squat the rear end, no need for the DRWs. The only time having DRWs was a big improvement was when I had a slide-in camper.
when it comes to considering a dually, you must know the drw has cons all the way around, save for two pro's.
DRW pro's:
better weight distribution so tires take the weight better.so of course this results in better payload.perhaps not on paper, but rest assured where it counts,at work.
stability is greatly increased.there is simply nothing like towing with a drw.
DRW cons;
before '99 you couldn't buy a 4wd pickup (but you get could get a cab n chassis f350 in 4wd form.)
traction is greatly reduced (4wd or not.they don't compare to srw.you should know they outright suck!)
fuel economy lowers due to the increase in rolling resistance.(you may only see 1 to 1.5 mpg loss, but best to plan on a 2 mpg hit.)
the ride is firmer.
more tires to buy and maintain.more expensive.
higher toll charges.
higher insurance rates.
higher vehicle purchase price (potentially.)
sounds like you like the appearance of the duallies.can't blame ya there.
however if you don't need it,you don't want it imho.srw has drw beat to hell if you have no need for added payload or stability.that said, drw beats the hell out of srw if you have a need for just either one.
I got a drw 4x4 with dump bed i use for firewood and a little mowing/landscape i do in the side. Dump is awsome for wood mulch or a little gravel. My 3000lbs of mowing equipment could easily be pulled with a srw truck but it pulls like a dream. Stacked full of wood there is zero swaying. It is stiff and heavy but its sole purpose is work and has the capability to do what i ask of it.
