I've located a 1997 F350 that I'm somewhat interested in.. It's currently missing the bed and is a dually..
Since I'd have to get a bed anyway, going from a DRW to SRW bed wouldn't be an issue, what is different at the axle? Would the axle need to be changed, or a different offset wheel?
There are 3 different lengths of rear axles. The SRW axle, the dually axle for a pickup, and the dually axle for a cab & chassis truck. A C & C truck has a narrower frame behind the cab. 34" outside frame width for a C & C, and 37" for a pickup.
If you have a pickup frame, the easiest thing would be to get a SRW axle from a junk yard and swap it in. The dually pickup axle is in pretty high demand...
Interesting, sounds like there's more questions to ask then. It also says it's a 4x4 dually, and per my information here a 1997 would not be 4x4 dual rear from the factory, or could a C&C be ordered that way?
4wd dualley has to be a c&c or a conversion
u can still put a pickup bed on it and run single wheels if it is a c&c. it will take some fabbing to mount the bed though
the tires will be approx 2" farther out board , alot of guys around here use 1.5 spacers anyway to make it look more like the front
