ok, i am seeing the stabalizer on alot of trucks here. they are all on the left side of the truck. mine is on the right side. and its all stock. does that seem right?? its an 01.
Ok I have to be honest, when I had it put on I thought I liked it, then after many long drives five hours or so, I have taken it off. It was installed in March and was taken off this past Monday. I had some front steering issues and the dealer replaced tie rod end to pitman arm, panrod bar bushings and put the factory steering damper on, and it is 100% better like new again. Fox calls this a direct replacement and it is not, the Fox damper is a nitrogen gas filled system, with a 50/50 valving, but there is always positive preassure towards the left side kinda always counter steering. I called Fox and was told I could lower the preassure but never did. If I ever get another aftermarket kit I will go witht the Donahoe kit. Hope this helps. BTW Donahoe has great customer service.
I don't believe the steering damper was an option itself. And it didn't come standard with all 4x4's. It was a part of some packages like the FX4, snow plow, Heavy Service Suspension, and there may have been others. So I guess the short answer is your truck didn't come with one of those packages.
