I had to put my .02 in here, yes the rockwells are gaining in popularity, and it shows, more aftermarket parts are showing up all the time. ARB is in the process of developing an air locker for 'em. As for the price, they are still pretty reasonable, sets here are going for 800 - 1300 a set, I got mine for 800, plus I paid 400 for a second front for a future rear steer project, all these needed was a paint job, oil change and some new boots. I wanted to use Dana axles on my truck, but the cheapest D60 front for a 70's model Ford was 1200, and it needed some serious TLC, and 1000 for one from a newer truck with drw for 1000. I went with them because they were a lot cheaper and stronger, might wanna give them another look.

Actually if i was to be buying axles i'd seriously look into a front axle out of either the international cxt (it uses cvs for the axle joints) or one out of a fwa tractor to gain benefit of the planetaries, and for the rear i think a 2sp rear would be a great idea, but dang are them suckers heavy sob's.

It never moves, it's fairly straight (no big deal as I have body parts for these coming out my ears), and looks to be completely stock.
So anyway, the wife and I drove up the road last night so I could go talk to this guy....the truck AND the spare cab are GONE. Probably some rich, no 9 to 5 job-havin' stupid hunter idiot driving by spotted it and paid cash for it on the spot this past week. Not that I have anything against hunting........

Oh no Cody let another truck get away from him,. Strike while the iron is hot is my motto. Those 79 crewcabs are rare beasts though. A friend off mine who is a Ford tech bought one off those several years ago. Drives it everyday to work. theres not aday that goes by when somebody doesnt try to buy it. Hes been offered some pretty good prices for it too. You know a lot off people put those 79 Ford trucks as the best trucks Ford ever made. Now I sure made Codys day after the truck is gone. Ravin it up an such. I think the perfect truck is out there for Cody. He just hasnt found it yet.

Oh BTW Cody have you still got the superduty or have you caved in to your GM buddies at work. Sorry for being a bit off topic here. Hopin you find the perfect truck man. Good Luck an when you add your touch to it. It will be awesome.
