After decoding this truck,i have noticed That you havea pretty rare truck since 64 4x4's are rare and if your truck is a stepside it is even more rarer, even if its a styleside, its really rare. If you have any more questions about this, dont hesitate to email me at oldford64(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
thank you very much for the info. i didnt realize i had anything rare. especially since i bought it for $300 with a plow. i am in the process of putting a new body on it since the old one is falling off. i live in WI. i got a great deal on a 63 f250 from kansas with 3 spare motors 2-292's and 1-223 body perfect all for $600 with dana 60's front and rear. so anyone looking for a motor let me know. mattb
I thought you might want to visit my website, devoted to 1961-1966 ford pickups, no matter what the condition. If you have or want to get an excite membership you you can join the club and post a picture, or email me a picture and i'll post it for you.
where did you decode that information, i have a 79 F250 4x4 that i would like to get decoded because i want to find out the original color, interior, axils/gears, and anything else i can find out about it. i don't have the vin number right now but when i call home next i will get it if you can help me out out.
the 2nd one is the best for 1961-1966 pickups and the first one is the best for 1967-1972 pickups, but some info will work for 1961-1966 also. I got the color info and when your truck was made, from some site that I cant find anymore, but i printed the information out when i did find the site. If you try looking up the color info on the first site and you dont find your # dont worry because this site is mainly for 1967-1972 pickups, but if the colors stayed the same through 1961-1972, they would have the answer. the color on your 1964 is not answered on the first page because that color ended in 1966 so that site wont have it. the 2nd site will not have color codes altough does have all the rest for 1961-1966 pickups. you will not find info on these two sites for your 79 but www.classictruckshop.com in the forum area will decode vin numbers of all years.
