Adding door bucket with keypad

I have been reading on here about putting the Mark LT handles on to color match your truck. Then it was mentioned that the wiring harness was already in the doors for the keypad and to go to the dealer to have them program your computer to read your keypad. Well the dealer said the plant my truck was built at only used a "basic" wiring harness, that my harness would have to be replaced if i wanted the keypad in the door handle, and that was if the main harness would even accept that updated door harness. PHEW! Is this a big run around they are giving me or is it possibly true?:{

Pull your door panel off and see if the plug is their. If so you should be ables to do it. The code should be behind the rear seat, you'll have to remove the upper half and there will be a black box with your code on it, on the drivers side. But first check inside the door before you take to much apart. look for the plug I think the plug end is green I can't remember for sure. But it is round and will be inside the door panel on the left side.

If your truck came with power locks, the harness should already be in the door. Your dealer will have to activate the pad in the VSM for it to work correctly

From what I was told, most XLT's and up came with it pre-wired (if power locks are factory). I lucked out big time, my truck was already programmed for a key pad, but one was not installed (dealer gave me the PIN card when I bought the truck). I bought the handle with keypad setup from Jusnes Modified, and it worked like a champ, install was easy with a few helpful tips from Jusnes. Love the mod.

Sorry bud, I do not remember exactly, I hope Bob chimes in this afternoon and reminds me. I know it was around $35-$75. I bought a lot of little mods for my truck over the last year so they blend in . I only did the driver side handle with a factory flat black handle with keypad. He has the Mark LT handles on his site, and can get pretty much anything you need. I wish I had of done those now, including the tailgate. But overall I am more than happy with mine.
