I just got a 2010 2WD F-150 XLT that does not have the keypad on the door handle. I have keyless entry, power everything, just about all the bells and whistles you can get. My friend has the exact same truck as mine except his has the keypad on the drivers side door. If I understand correctly the factory wiring harness is the same and should have the connection for the keypad already in the door. My question is, is it possible to just replace the none keypad door handle with one that has a keypad. If so is there anything that needs to be done to the computer so it will recognize the new door handle. Last but not least, will a 2004-2008 door handle with keypad work on a 2010? I have measured the 2010 handle that doesn't have a keypad and my 2004 handle that does have a keypad and the dimensions are exact. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

 

The smart junction box will likely need to be programed by the dealer, IF they can. That is what controls the keyless entry with the code.

 

in 04-08 it was plug and play......the wires were all there then.....not sure if they've kept the wires in all of them for the 09+'s
