Well guys, I did my best to make Ford lovers proud. Once again my friend Chad and I were battling it out. (He has the blown chevy.) Since the last race where I barely edged him out for the win, he has done nothing but talk smack about how he was going to beat me this weekend. To be honest the only reason he has a running truck to play with is because I work on it for him. But anyway, instead of all the big trucks going first this time we let the little trucks go. Well that would come back to bite us later..... They made ruts heading twards the wall. First round I threw a blower belt about 3/4 track, but still kicked his azz. Second round I hit the rev limiter and threw the blower belt again, but still kicked his azz. I was eatin' his chevy alive! Third round, the blower belt stayed on and man, the truck was flying.....literally. I slammed it into the wall about the last 15 feet of the pit. I blew off the front passenger tire, and both drivers side tires, and tore the steering box off the frame. But I was carrying so much momentum, I STILL KICKED HIS AZZ!!!!!! My first and second run were low 8 second runs, and the third was a 7.06 in a 250' pit. I ended up getting third place in the event and made enough money to pay Ray the tire Dr. to put a couple of boggers back together for me. We had to ratchet strap the steering box back to the frame to get it on the trailer. But it was a good night. I did get beat by two chevys though. One was running an alcohol motor and the other one was just lucky. But my only focus was to beat Chad's chevy, and we did it in high fashion. This time there was NO question. And thanks for the tranny help and advice from Skipped_link and Monsterbaby on how to get my shifting in order. I ended up just going with another B&M Transpak. Though I never was in a situation where I needed to come back to first from second, it shifted alot harder just the way I wanted it to. Thanks guys. And our other Ford Brother my79f (Austin) made his second mud race debut and did very well. Since his clutch smoke show on the 4th of July he has made several upgrades and improvements on his truck to answer the call. He installed a new lift where he didn't have one before, new boggers in place of the pizza cutters he had, new clutch, radiator and various other things. Like me he was up all night this past week thrashing to get it together. Though he didn't win all of his matchups, he did win one that I saw and he was flying! I was very proud of him, he worked really hard for it. So in the end, he and I really made Ford's voice heard in Llano Saturday night, and we had a hell of a good time doing it. I will post pics and vids as soon as I can. But I just thought yall would like to know how it went down south this weekend. Later.
So is your jeep without a Ford engine in it. Just kidding, I know, I know. I will have a link by tonight hopefully. My brother in law videoed with his digital camera, so hopefully we will have video too. I won't let yall down.
Okay, here's the link of the professional photographer that was there. The pics of me and Chad start twards the bottom of the first page. The second page I believe has the uglyness on it. Enjoy. Still working on vids. FYI if you click the thumbnail it will bring up a bigger pic, then click it again for a bigger pic.
