4.2 vs 5.7 race...

Well, I dropped the pressure in my back tires from 35 to 25 psi. After I did this I lined up again and got the best 60' time thus far. It was a low 2.4 sec. 60. Anyways, the problem with that is that I lowered the pressure too much and it made me slower all the way down the track and I pulled a measley 16.6.
NOW for the good part:
I roll up for my final approach and I see a Chevy right beside me. We had to wait a little bit so I got out to get some air. The guy in the Chevy got out and we started talking and crap. He was pretty cool until he asked why I was running a truck with a V6 at the track. Then, it got kinda ugly... His truck was a 98 Chevy with a 5.7 V8 (which is a 350). His truck was a single cab auto with a couple of bolt on mods. ie: exhaust and a K&N filter setup
I told him to race me just to see who would win for fun. HE LAUGHED AT ME! He said he would more than likely win over a Ford V6 truck. I was like ok whatever, let's go. When our turn came up we signalled to race. I was in the right lane and he was in the left. We both did our burn-outs, and I think his was a little better than mine. Anyways, we pull up to the tree, watch the lights, and go. He got a better reaction time than me and pulled ahead by about a length. By the time I hit 60 MPH I caught him, and by the time I hit 80 I was 2 lengths ahead of him. HAHAHAAAAHAHAHHAAAAAA!!!!!!! AAAHAHAHAHHAAAAA!!!! (ok, I'm better now) I didn't run very fast either. I ran a solid 16.60 and beat him by 2 lengths. Just think if I would have had a good reaction time and ran my best 16.4. He would have been seeing my taillights!
CLIFFSNOTES:
-talked to a Chevy guy and got him to race me. He said he would beat me.
-him: single cab, 350, 98 Chevy, Flowmaster exhaust, K&N filter setup
-me: single cab, 4.2 V6, 03 Ford, Flowmaster exhaust, MAC Intake, Chip
-he got the start on me by a length.
-I came back and beat him by 2 lengths.
-I celebrated with a victory dance.

After the race, he just left and didn't say another word. I'm glad to be the one to put him in his place.
BTW it is looking like I will have alot of cash in a few weeks, enough to buy the stage four kit from super six motorsports....
But bills come first.
dang bills!

Thye stage IV kit at SSM is basically a complete engine rebuild kit with new intake, new heads, all upgraded internals, running a Centrifugal S/C like Garrets, and they claim puts over 400 HP to the ground! And this it specifically list the Essex 4.2 V6 as the motor...I think it also includes a full exhaust system, you do this, add NOS, underdrive pulleys, aluminum 4core radiator and 2 elec fans, gears, rims/tire combo, and a drop, and you truck will embarrass the crap out of a modded lightning.
