you might want to think about pulling the bed only 6 bolts than you can do a really nice job on the rear. as for stuff getting in the way in the rear all you have to worry about is the fuel lines. i pulled mine off so i could replace them when i did my frame but i think the you might be able to get behind them with so paint. i did from the back of the cab back inside and out side of the frame i only did the out side from the frame from the cab forward so i didnt have anything get in my way. as far as cleaning the frame you have it right but i would not grind the rust out use a wire brush i used one on a 4in grinder but you can just used a hand held one. i have found that the paint actually sticks better over rust than really clean metal. but you want to take most of the rust off. i first coated the frame with zero rust than did a top coat with gloss black rutolem.(trying to save alittle money).ill try and post some pictures ofthe frame hope this helps
