clunking noise
There is a kinda clunking noise coming from the right front of my 00 4X4.
It doesn't do it until driven for a bit- have greased all joints- but still have it. seems to do it when hitting very light bumps-looking for ideas

Sounds very similar to my 02 4X4. It would do it for me after warming up and mainly when I hit a bump or applied the brakes.......I found out it was the ball joints.......replaced both sides upper and lower. Raise your tire off the ground and grab the top and bottom.....if you can move it then you know it is the ball joint.........good luck.

Did not do it myself after getting much input on that. It is a real pain. I bought the parts at cost through a buddy then had a reputable place put them in..........the mechanic who specializes in Ford front ends even told me to be thankful I did not try myself because it is a pain the ***. Some may say try it, but I didn't. Anyway, I ended up paying 500 bucks for everything and they turned my rotors and replaced pads also.
