clunk when taking off

clunk when taking off
well here it is i have a 94 x sport i come to a colplete stop when going down a hill then i release my brake to go again and i get this clunk noise from underneath it feels like a forward momentum clunk could it be the slip yolk is dry and if so how do i fix this problem

I would check my u-joints on the driveshaft - see if there is any play in them. If you have a lot of miles, could be the rear end if it has not been serviced...
