Got truck back, they did not find anything, no codes and no problems. No surprise to me! They did work on the fuse block and adjust the wiring there per the service bullitin, and since both are off the same terminal. However, not being an electronics guru, I don't understand how a bad fuse block connection could affect only part of the electronics on a circuit.
Huntercgr: No, I have not disconnect my egr, I will not risk voiding my warranty with any modification. Ford is looking for any excuse to tell me to take a hike on this truck. I will not give them any reason, evenif lame.
Yup, the woes continue. After getting my CAC tube oil leak fixed, the driveway was clean for about one month. Now I got another...crawled under truck and see no other leaks traveling down to the RMS, but the RMS has got a drip. Oh well, I will wait till something else happens.
jr, I understand you're thought process. If you disconnect it, your truck should not throw a code, mine didn't. I'm pretty sure that only happens with Cali. rigs.
So, my only suggestion would be to try it, see if the problem is still there. If it is, you have a partial answer. If it goes away, you have your whole answer. What else have to got to experiment with?
I only say this because I had the same symptoms. Took truck in and asked them to check EGR, after I discoed it and it ran fine. Sure enough it was pretty clogged, so tech replaced it. AND suggested to leave it unplugged. Actually, he didn't plug it back in .
Unfortunately, jfralph has a long and not to encouraging experience with this and his previous 6.0....so I can understand his reluctance to do anything out of the box.

I do remember his previous frustrations. And the point of my post is, maybe it's time to get out of the box.
Maybe a tech can help him do that by saying he won't have a problem if he does try it.
