Get student version of MS Office. It has MS Word, PP, and Excel.

Yeah, I think I paid about $100 for a student version of MS Office to run on XP from the campus computer store. Word, Excel, PP, Outlook (full, not express), and maybe Access.

I think that's about the best you'll do legally.

Student discounts are steeep. My lady went to a state college. They gave her XP Pro for some ridiculously low amount, like $50 or $60. They offered her Office Student/Teacher edition for something like $35. Check out your school bookstore.

You can also go to openoffice.org and get openoffice for free. It is pretty much, just about, 99.09876% compatible with MS Office.

What university are you at? The student discounts we have are 15 bucks for OFfice PRO, and 15 for XP Pro....limit 1 each of course.

Any price under 100 bucks is a steal though. Pretty much all colleges, universities, etc have discounts available.

Yeah, check around and see if anybody has it. If you know anybody that goes to Pitt (other than yours truly, cuz I lost my copy), try to hit them up. We get it for free.

Depending on the college, the 'Bookstore' might have MS products for very little or no money.

MS Educational Enterprise Agreement, or something like that.

My son and daughter's college issued 1 per person, one-time, FREE. License valid - For Life.

Everything from Office 97; 2000; XP and 2003.
Windows 98 SE; ME; NT; XP Pro
Office for MAC
Visual Basic

And several others.

I second the call to check out openoffice. Unless you have some specific need to use the Microsoft products. Openoffice / StarOffice should be able to produce exactly the same results. Plus it's free without having to pirate, if that bothers you.
