Yeah, I think I paid about $100 for a student version of MS Office to run on XP from the campus computer store. Word, Excel, PP, Outlook (full, not express), and maybe Access.
Student discounts are steeep. My lady went to a state college. They gave her XP Pro for some ridiculously low amount, like $50 or $60. They offered her Office Student/Teacher edition for something like $35. Check out your school bookstore.
Yeah, check around and see if anybody has it. If you know anybody that goes to Pitt (other than yours truly, cuz I lost my copy), try to hit them up. We get it for free.
I second the call to check out openoffice. Unless you have some specific need to use the Microsoft products. Openoffice / StarOffice should be able to produce exactly the same results. Plus it's free without having to pirate, if that bothers you.
