Regarding the one piece rotor/hub:
More than likely the previous owner had the truck serviced and at that time the OEM two piece assembly was replaced per: Ford's TSB, with the one piece rotor/hub assembly.
Hope all "truns" out good after having them machined and new pads installed.
I bought the truck brand new - it has all original parts.
You were right about the warping. I took the rotors to be turned and they were all badly warped. The front two were worn and warped past turning, so I'm having to replace them. The back two were turn-able, so I'm going to give them another go-round.
I think they are Raybestos, from the local parts store. I hope they're better than the originals. Do you have any experience with their products? Did you order your RotorPros through a website?
Yes, I order direct from RotorPros. I called and ordered. It was $200 delivered to my door.
Rotors are cross drilled and slotted.
Their website is rotorpros.com.
Rockauto, an FTE sponsor, has a decent selection of rotors as well.
In my experience Raybestos makes good stuff. I'm guessing you'll get the plain (not slotted or drilled) rotors. They should be good. I looked at them online while I was shopping.
One more question. What size socket is required for the spindle nut?
Did you use a 1/2 inch drive cheater bar?
The correct size on mine is 36mm, I think (went to the parts store and found a spindle nut socket) but previously I bought a 1 3/8" regular socket and tapped it on the nut- it was hard to get the socket off the nut because it was just a hair too small (about 1mm too small). I'll put them back on with the 36mm.
I don't know what size drive the 36mm socket is (I'm getting ready to put it all together tonight), but the 1 3/8" is a 3/4" drive, and I just used a hardened 1/2" to 3/4" adapter on my break-over handle.
