backup light switch
backup light switch
Hi,
where is the back-up light switch on a 1986 F-250 4x4? Did an engine swap (6.9 to 7.3) and trans overhaul on mine and lost the back-up light! Fuse has been checked.
Thanks for your replies

backup light/neutral safety switch combo on the C/6 is behind the shift lever on the trans. there are 4 wires coming out of it.
and it is a pain in the butt to set the reverse lights when it gets old.
i have converted all my trucks reverse lights to a dash mount toggle switch, because i use flood lights under the truck and in the light bars mounted on top of the trucks. they serve double duty as work lights as well as reverse lights.

if i remember correctly, it is in the trans, on top, back behind the shifter. and the neutral safety switch wires will have a small jumper across them so the clutch interrupter switch will work instead.
Shows on the drivers side just behind and below the data plate on my schematic.
