where is the backup light switch located on an 88 350 crew dually ?

i'm startin with the switch cause theres a bee hive of splices in the harness
i also posted the 17 or 15 bolt trans pan

I'm pretty sure it's on the tranny where the linkage goes in.

theres a 1/2 moon thing with 4 wires attached to kickdown linkage ? is that where you're talking about ?

yes that's it, it's adjustable, if you undo the nut hold the lever with pliers so you don't pry against the inside stuff.

1 or 2 wires are badly frayed with no insulators near the switch

Good question. They're frayed at the switch to 1/2 inch back
