When is the Paw Paw days? And where is Waynesville from springfield?
Waynesville is just a bit past Lebanon so it's really pretty close for you. They just had this years Paw-Paw days either last weekend or the weekend before so you gotta year to plan for it.
If Waynesville is in the running, we have another decision to make. Waynesville has three festivals a year and we need to decide which is more desirable for the chapter. There is the spring festival called "Frog Days", the mid summer festival called "Old Settlers Days", and of course, the fall festival we attended called "Paw Paw Days". I don't know for our purposes the differences in the events other than at the Old Settlers Days event the swimming pool which is in the middle of the park and all of the activity, will be open. This might be good for any chapter kids that are looking for something more to do if they get bored of the other stuff going on, just a thought. Vloney might be able to enlighten us on which event might be better.
I think we need to get this stuff nailed down so we can get on with the planning and promoting our state meet. If Waynesville is the consensus, we have vloney to be our contact with the event chairman.
Call me a whiney baby, but I don't care to be outside at a mid-summer festival. The other two sound good. Where abouts is waynesville? What dates are these on?
The frog fest, old settlers day, and paw paw days are pretty much the same thing. The only difference is the time of year, and the weather. The chamber of commerce sends out the invitations to different vendors/performers. Ryan is right, the old settlers day this year was 90-95 degrees. Frog fest and paw paw days would be better choices. Dates vary according to local scheduling (there is always ample time to plan). The nearby communities always have something going on. Waynesville and St. Robert are side by side, and St. Robert is occasionally putting on tractor pulls and circus kind of things (no rhyme or reason when these are scheduled). For those that dont know, Waynesville is on I44, roughly south central Mo. The military base Ft. Leonard wood is here.
Frog fest and paw paw days both sound great to me. I enjoyed my first meet and greet that was today at Gates and I look forward to more in the future. I also love going to festivals so it would be a great excuse to get Ryan to go to one with me!
If everyone wants to have an event at Waynesville, I will be happy to co-ordinate something. I've been pumping my dealership to see if they would be willing to get involved. We've got lots of time to plan and make this a good time for all concerned.
