Anyone know what shipping on a 25'x10'x10' crate weighing ~9000lbs going to Hawaii would be?? I think FTE should be able to pay for our trucks to ship as a way to create unity with members from other areas.
The Paw Paw days in Waynesville might be a real good site for our meet. Most everything is already in place. There is a small car show there. They have plenty of people selling food and there are activities for the rest of the family also. There are few other bonuses as well. The dealership vloney works for (Sellers-Sexton) was willing to send him with a new truck to display. They also sent a box of hat's for him to hand out to eveyone that attended this years event so I'm sure with a bigger crowd they would show continued support. We also have vloney himself, not only could he help set things up for us, with his vast knowledge he could also answer any ones ?'s about there vehicles. vloney had a designated spot for us to park and display the trucks this year and I'm sure he could get it for us again next year. They do have pavilions that we could possibly get a spot in also.
This is just an idea. Any suggestions or comments are more than welcome. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.
I too was very impressed with the Paw Paw days event in Waynesville. It is held in an incredible setting with some of the friendliest towns people you could imagine. There is plenty of nearby lodging for those that might need it and as Scott mentioned, there is something to do for the entire family. There was several food concessions, lots of arts and crafts booths, and last but not least, hand dipped homemade ice cream. Doc and I each had a double scoop waffle cone. Doc will have to say how his chocalate fudge was, but my butter pecan was to die for. the dipper they used ain't no city dipper either, a double dipper looked like a pint of ice cream. There was also pony rides for the kids and I'm not gonna say another word about that train.
In my opinion, Waynesville deserves serious consideration for our next meet.
If all of you come, I can request larger cars on the...um....locomotive shuttle service to accommodate our....uh.....larger enthusiasts.
Also make sure they have handicap handrails so said member can enter and exit without too much help!
As for the Ice Cream and pony rides....I had some of the best chocolate that I've had in a long time. My daughter liked the pony rides after she got used to it.LOL
