ok, so I've just finished swapping everything turbo related from the early to late 99, including a van turbo with ATS housing. There is noticably more lag than before, but not as bad as I thought it would be. My next step is to upgrade the HPOP and injectors which are still early 99 models. I am really struggling on making decisions on what to get. I've thought of just upgrading both to the later 99 model. Just wondering what options you all would reccomend. Also, I have a Predator right now, but I will switch to possibly a DP Tuner if it would be that much more beneficial.
i cant help you with the inj ??? but i got an early 99 as well.did you get the kit for the swap or did you find the organelle from a late 99 and swap it out? was it a hard swap? how long did it take?thanks alot,
Ron
Once you get a new HPOP and/or injectors, you will NEED a DP-Tuner chip with custom tunes to be able to properly run the new setup.
If you are going all out then go for new injectors and a Terminator or Stealth HPOP setup. Both will supply more oil than any injector out there can possibly use.
I bought the kit from Dieselsite. It wasn't too bad to do. Lining up the collecter and up-pipes with the turbo was the biggest pain in the butt. I'd plan on a couple days.
I'm not really too concerned about going all out. I just want a combination that works well together without creating other problems. If it takes going all out to get that, then so be it.
Yep. A stock late pump and some stage two's will do nicely. If you get split shot II's your predator will run them, but there is simply no substitute for custom programming from a performance aspect. If you want to run single shot injectors a custom chip is your only option.
no, stage 2 single shots which would require new programming. Stage 2 single's wont use much if anymore oil than stock AD's, but a late model hpop wont hurt either.
