When I close my driver door, sometimes the ajar light stays on and then the interior light stays on as well. This will happen for two days and then it will go away for months. Any suggestions. Only asking cause im selling due to us buying a new 2007 550,sweet.
usually if you spray wd-40 down the little opening on the door, where the door latch moves, it will fix the sticky sensor. mine were pretty messed up, so i rigged it my own way and now the light NEVER comes on, even with doors open.
Mine does the same thing, there`s a little gremlin in there that`s messing with me. Kris, is that where the pin switches are? Near the latch in the door, could you be more specific? Congrats on the 550, ha305!
The switch is in the door by the latch, Not reaaly that hard to take off the panel, It lifts up after taking out a couple of screws.
Get some Circuit board cleaner DO NOT USE brake clean. and find the switch spray around and in if possible a little WD 40 will help after clean and you should be good for a while. Had the same problem with my 99 f350 that took care of it.
it is very easy to do, to get the door panel off all you do is pry the switch panel on the doors off (where your window switches and locks are and unplug the switches) there will be one bolt in there. to get to the other bolt you have to pull off the lens on the bottom of the door light and twist the bulb to free it from the door. unscrew the bolt. also you have to pull off the plastic trim piece on the front corner of the door toward the front of the truck. it will just pull off with your hands. push your door lock down and pull up on the door panel. you have to clear the lock. pull up and you will feel it let go then just pull it toward you. its easier to understand when you start doing it. once you get the door panel off you will have to peel back the sound proofing to get to the hole in the door. you will see two connectors with wires runnign to them the one closest to you is for the door locks and the one in the back is the door switch. is it hard to get your hands in there but is easy to disconnect but a pain to reconnect . this is a lot easier than it sounds like i said the door panels come off with 2 screws and the trim pieces are only cliped in.
