Securilok on '06 SD PS Remote Start?

I just purchased the Ford OEM Remote Start kit. I've read that I need the 1L2Z-19G365-AB Securilok Interface Kit to make it work, but I recently read on the board here that the SD's don't come with PATS, and don't need the kit.

Do I need the kit?

No, you don't need the kit. SD's don't come with any type of protection. PATS, PATS II, or otherwise.
