removing air conditioning compressor
Is there any way on an 87 serpentined belted 300-6 to remove the ac compressor? Is there a bolt in place pulley or sumthin one could buy? My ac is long dead and i want to remove it before the bearings lock up.. I have looked and cant find anything. So how were non ac equipped motors set up? I have heard they had a different water pump and belt routing? So anybody know??

Not sure about 1987, but I had the same issue in my 1996. I was able to leave the AC compressor in and just route the belt around it. I did however have to pry the pulley off the AC so there'd be enough clearance for the new belt routing. There was a sticker on the underside of my hood showing how to route the belt if there was no AC.
